St. Camillus is named the first Life Plan Community to receive "Dementia Specific" designation through LeadingAge Wisconsin!
LeadingAge Wisconsin describes the Dementia Care Designation System as, "An opportunity to raise the standard for what “dementia care community” means when a provider is advertised as such to the public. The ultimate goal of this tool is to offer a better means to objectively measure the reasons underlying why a facility can market their supports and services as quality dementia care with a more transparent and accountable system for consumers and families to trust.”
After completing the assessment, facilities are designated to one of three categories: dementia supportive, dementia capable or dementia specific.
St. Camillus received the "Dementia Specific" distinction. The "Dementia Specific" distinction states: the care community is dedicated to holistic philosophy that embraces and fosters individualized dementia-centered care and support."
"Our philosophy to care for seniors with a holistic approach has always been our priority. We could not be prouder to be the first community named with the "Dementia Specific" designation by LeadingAge Wisconsin." - St. Camillus CEO and President, Shannon Angell
